"Mühsam ernährt sich das Eichhörnchen"

"Mühsam ernährt sich das Eichhörnchen"

Go on, have a go at saying that 😂

It's a German idiom, literally translating to "The squirrel feeds itself arduously" 🐿️

It means something along the lines of "slow and steady wins the race"..."Rome wasn't built in a day" and all the other sayings that express the idea of taking baby steps towards a bigger goal.

While building a business, we take dozens of those baby steps every week, every month.

And sometimes, we forget to acknowledge or celebrate them.
We celebrate the big milestones, but the little wins tend to fade into the background.

I'm trying to acknowledge my baby steps more consciously.

👇👇👇This was one of them.

One of my goals for this year is to get onto some radio and in-store advert rosters in the UK.
It is an area I have never worked in before.

But every time I do my shopping and hear my peers' dulcet tones from the supermarket PAs, I think "Aww man, I'd love to do that!"

So I specifically contacted producers in these genres earlier this year, made the connections, had the conversations.

And a couple of weeks ago, I voiced my first in-store ad. 🥳

Is this a huge breakthrough moment? Nope.
A game changer? Nope.
A big paycheck? Nope.

But is it a baby step towards my overarching goal? Hell yeah.

And I'm trying to celebrate more of the baby steps.
Because after all, the squirrel feeds itself arduously. 🙃
